Google unleashes new iGoogle

Google unleashed a new iGoogle interface today. It looks clean; however, it also is meant for a wide-screen monitor. While they are becoming more and more popular, the standard form at most homes is by-and-large still a 4:3 aspect at 1024x768 pixels. From a web-design usability perspective, they have elected to use up precious real-estate on the left-hand side that used to take up only a minuscule amount of space as a horizontal menu across the top. This is clearly some thing that doesn't work if you also have three columns of information blocks across the screen. Oops.
